Places to Visit
Reserve your self catering holiday here in the south of France, in Brittany within an easy drive to the coast full of sandy beaches for the family, the seaside for swimming, lakes for fishing, forests for walking and hiking. Cycling through historic and quaint villages, shopping at traditional markets for that special meal, or just sitting at a local crêperie bar for lunch.
Huelgoat is also the place for annual classic car and motorcycle rallies. Huelgoat itself has plenty to occupy the holiday maker that is looking for a place for hiking, cycling and golf, but should you wish to venture further a field the following places are well worth a visit.
The surrounding area boasts of a naval base in Brest the nearest large city with World War ll exhibits and history and Oceanapolis, a large aquarium with sharks and interactive exhibits.
Morlaix is a large historic French market town with an impressive viaduct, marina, shops and restaurants.
On the way to Morlaix you'll pass a village called Le Cloiters, the home of the wolf, enter the exhibition!
A visit to France isn't complete without a visit to a chateau. You will find one in Josselin, medieval town is full of French beauty.
It is also a must to see the standing stones at Carnac, a national heritage centre. Carnac is full of beautiful scenery for those who are interested in walking and biking. Quimper, a nearby town is great for shopping and south of Quimper are some gems of beaches including Fousenant and Benodet. Watch the boats come in and out, or take a cruise and explore some caves, or do some fishing.
Locronan feels like a Cotswold village with a French twist-a delightful small town trapped in time and steeped in history. In the 15th and 16th century Locronan was a sophisticated town, it was responsible for the manufacturing and supplying of sail cloth for the French Royal Navy and others including buccaneers. Enjoy walking around some of the high class bars, shops and restaurants and pay a visit to the beautiful church in the square
There is over 600 km of coastline with fabulous sandy beaches, rocky coves, dramatic cliffs, pretty harbours, and offshore islands to explore.
There is a tiny breathtaking island, Ile de Brehat, off of France's north coast free of cars and can be reached by passenger ferry from the mainland, where you can walk around in a live picture postcard.
Visit a lovely lighthouse overlooking the Oder estuary at Benodet.
