The Villa

Sitting in 3/4 of an acre of private ground, Lake View Villas is one of the most beautiful holiday villas in Brittany. This historic French rental villa has been fully restored and  offers luxury self-catering family and group holiday accommodation, with beautiful views of the Parc d'Armorique, in Huelgoat, Brittany, France.

Bedrooms

Lake View Villas is large enough to provide holiday accommodation for up to 13 people in 5 large bedrooms. There is additional capacity if required. Please enquire.

All bedrooms have stunning views toward the lakeside town of Huelgoat. The master bedroom boasts a king size wrought iron bed and has patio doors leading onto a terrace which overlooks the beautiful gardens, lake and town. The “blue room” has an antique French carved wooden double bed, again, with an enviable view. The other bedrooms are equally well appointed.

During your stay, you are provided with luxury towels, linen, robes & toiletries, but please do bring your own beach towels. These are changed on a weekly basis, but for a small fee can be arranged in between,  should you so wish.

Kitchen & Dining Room

The dining room has a beautiful large oak dining table, along with a solid wood antique French dresser giving the dining room a traditional feeling. The table can be extended for large parties to comfortably seat up to 10 people.

Tablecloths, mats and tableware are available in the large dining sideboard. The dresser houses extra dishes, and board games. The solid oak kitchen is fitted with appliances including fridge, electric oven, gas hob, microwave and dishwasher for all your self catering holiday culinary needs. There is also an additional American style fridge freezer in the alcove in the hallway. For any questions you may have about the amenities provided, feel free to contact us.

Lounge and Games Room

The focal point of the lounge is an ornate, 14 foot high, solid granite fireplace built in 1926 by Pierre Loirat, the builder and owner at the time. Logs and firelighters are provided.

With stripped wooden floors, rugs and ornate ceiling, the lounge is cosy with plenty of seating. There’s a colour TV and DVD/Video player plus a large selection of DVDs and videos available. A second portable TV/DVD can be found upstairs in the family room and this can be used throughout the villa.

The games room has a complimentary stocked bar, drinks fridge and music system. There’s also a full sized pool table.

The second floor spacious landing has a reading area, sofa bed and old war chest with children's toys.

Bathrooms

The main family bathroom on the middle floor is luxuriously fitted throughout, with a bath, overhead shower and an illuminated  marble vanity unit and sink. Relax in the bath , perhaps with a glass of wine and a book, looking on to the “Enchanted Forest” through the large open patio windows.

The top floor has a large luxury,  jet spray shower cubicle with different settings including back and feet massage, overhead shower, interior lights and radio. There are two mirrors, a heated towel rail and plenty of space for a family to get ready together. A hairdryer is also provided for you in this room along with another in the master bedroom.

Lake View Villas has another two separate toilets with sink and bidet on the ground and middle floors. Luxury shower, bath gels, soap and toiletries are provided for the duration of your stay.

A washer and separate dryer are available in the utility area in the garage.

Grounds

The villa grounds provide plenty of space for children of all ages to run around and explore, there are hidden dens and secret passageways under camellia, azalea and rhododendron bushes. The garden has a play-frame and we provide football, table tennis, badminton, boules and children's croquet equipment.

The gardens are fully enclosed and are ideal for games, entertaining, and barbecues, all garden furniture and equipment is supplied.

Venturing Out

From the Villas’s gate, you can access some amazing walks. Wooded footpaths lead behind the villa, just waiting to be explored, or take the path that leads down to the lake and walk around it in an anti – clockwise direction.  A small children’s playground can be found on the peninsula of the lake. The walk around the lake this way leads you to the lakeside town of Huelgoat via tennis courts and a local outdoor swimming pool.

Should you take a left turn at the bottom of the Allee Des Lauriers, you can walk to the town in a mere 5 minutes.

Huelgoat

Once in the town, you’ll be spoiled for choice!

Huelgoat boasts many lakeside bars, restaurants & creperies. Perfect on a sunny day and simply stunning at night. Typically French, this beautiful Breton town has a traditional square at it’s centre, with boulangeries, creperies, chocolatiers, art gallery, mini-market, hair dressers, along with numerous bars & restaurants. It even has a Cinema for some French culture.

Many visitors to Huelgoat come to visit the “Chaos”, an expanse of gigantic stone boulders left over from the ice age, and where the lake plunges deep down into “Diablo’s Grotto”, the Devil’s Cave.

These massive formations can be found amongst the large 600 hectare “Enchanted Forest” , where footpaths, seating areas , creperies and bars prove a delight for every holiday maker.
